Layla El is the winner of the 2006 WWE Diva Search. During the competition, Layla won Sgt. Slaughter 's "Diva Boot Camp" obstacle course on the July 14th edition of Friday Night Smackdown. This gained her immunity for one week from elimination that took place on Monday Night RAW. Layla also won the Diva Search Talent Show on the August 11th edition of Smackdown as she showed off her dancing skills while dressed as a police officer.
After winning the diva search competion, Layla made her first official WWE appearance at SummerSlam 2006. She was involved in a backstage segment with several other Divas. During this segment Trish Stratus taunted Layla with healish tactics asking her if she thought she could call herself a diva just because she won "some competition". Trish and the other divas than revealed they were just teasing her, and did it all in fun. Following this, Layla was literally showered down as the divas proceeded to spank her. Before winning the diva search competition, Layla worked as a dancer for the NBA's Miami Heat. She also was a dancer for Kanye West at the MTV Video Music Awards.
